It’s official – we are now testing Class VII vehicles

A big vanAfter a few teething problems and a little more time than anticipated, we are now fully authorised to MOT Class VII vehicles!

So, what does that mean for you? If you are an existing customer (or even someone who hasn’t been to us before) with a car, bike or small van, there is no change.

We have simply added the facility to test bigger and heavier vehicles. Class VII is the test class for goods vehicles – big vans – with a DGW (Design Gross Weight) of 3 to 3.5 tonne. So now, if you drive any type of van, we can more than likely MOT it.

Although some motorhomes or dual purpose vehicles are above the 3 tonne minimum weight of Class VII, the fact that they are not classed as ‘commercial’ vehicles exempts them from the Class VII test. We have always been able to test these vehicles as long as they would fit into the workshop and onto the ramp. This still applies, but now we can offer MOT tests for even more of these vehicles on the new, longer ramp.

If you are unsure about whether we can MOT your vehicle, give us a call or pop in and see us.
